Just Lucky

I told myself if I could make it through the mess that was April, everything would be alright. Make it to May, make it to May--that's what I thought on the worst days.

Now it's May and I was right. I'm in the happiest apartment (that soon will be painted "morning sunshine"--a sweet pale yellow). My cat loves the new windowsills. I just did my budget and discovered that I really truly can afford to live on my own without working a side job at Starbucks. I got a tax refund that will give me the cash to pay off a credit card and buy an air conditioner. When I look out my window, I see plants and flowers (and a screaming man--but only sometimes). I've discovered the love that is BSG. I'm starting to enjoy the N train.

Just to be on the safe side, I'm knocking on wood. But who needs superstition when things feel so grand?
