A busy day. A day of tax-free shopping, paint, and a grade 'A' celebrity sighting.
This morning I saw off my mom and nephew. We played 'softball for 15 minutes before they needed to catch a cab. Donovan showed improvement. He told my mom we could only play 2 player. I love how he transposes video game talk onto sports.
So I saw them off and felt a little sad. It was nice having them around this weekend. Donovan loved Lauren. And he started to refer to Caren as his "Honey" because she gave him 2 leg massages.
From there I went to the gym and swam for 40 lovely minutes. And then I read a book and drank some D&D coffee.
Got home where Chuck and Lauren were finishing breakfast. We headed out to 8th St. Lauren needed pink converse. Mission accomplished. Gray's Papaya for lunch and then a trip to Our Name is Mudd to paint pottery. Lauren made an adorable candy dish with M&M's painted inside. Chuck made a business card holder. I made a mug for Donovan and another present for another person. I won't mention her name.
We were finishing up when who should step in but Christian Finnegan (of Chappelle Show and Best Week Ever fame). Since Lauren is obsessed with him, it was a fortuitous star sighting. She handled herself well. I was a bit giggly.
To celebrate, we hit the brand new Stone Cold Creamery near Astor Place. Mmmmm. I had something minty with oreos and fudge. Mmmm.
We foolishly, at my request, headed up to 34th St. for Old Navy. I love no tax.
Now what to do with our Monday?
You're like the Army-you do more before 10:30am than most people do all day.
